Pure scumbags of the worst caliber. Cancelled a 6 month contract on a Friday evening when move in was on Monday. Behave in any number of illegal ways.

I do not recommend it!! This agency has big financial problems and is on the verge of bankruptcy. They illegally withheld 3000 euros from me and they have no money to return it. I am looking for people who have been harmed by agencies for a joint lawsuit

Do not use Barcelona-Home at all costs. They will not return your deposit with no reason. Four of my classmates and I stayed in one of these accommodations during our six-month period studying in Barcelona and our dealings with Barcelona-Home has truly been a sour experience. The company representative, Alba, who was responsible for our accommodation, would selectively ignore us if we had some issue or needed some help. But the final straw for me writing this review is this company scamming us out of our deposit. We had a pest control issue in the apartment, and sought help from Alba. However, Alba proceeded to ask us for a large amount of money in cash the following day, which we did not have. It is also the responsibility of the landlord to pay for pest control. We let Alba know that it was not possible to get this much money in 24 hours, and struck a deal that we would pay half-and-half for the pest control and Alba accepted. For the next 3 weeks, Alba continually ignored our requests to carry out the pest control, nobody came. Alba continually ignored us until it was time to take the majority of our deposit from us with no explanation. When we inquired, she said the price of the pest control had gone up because we had DELAYED it, even though we had been requesting it for weeks by now. She also charged us for unnecessary VAT and items in the house that did not need to be replaced. To this day we are still asking for more information from her and are being ignored. DO NOT use this company unless you want to be SCAMMED. If you would like proof of anything I've written here, you can get in contact and I will send the proof. I did not want to write such a review, but we have been given no other choice.

Barcelona-Home is probably the best experience I have had in my life, regarding the management of the flat I have for rent in Barcelona! The communication level is perfect, and all worked out perfectly so far (since Oct 2020), the payments are always on time, and the level of professionalism is very high! I found an apartment on the website and paid a deposit of 200 euros. also because of the reservation I bought a plane ticket. When I called the company to find out about my apartment, they told me that the reservation was not confirmed. what does the company take money for if there is no guarantee of booking?

Alquilé un piso en Hom Barcelona desde abril, pagué comisión y alquiler por adelantado. La agencia aplazó un día la recogida de llaves. Cuando fui a buscar la llave, la agencia me informó que no podía alquilarme un apartamento. Pedí la devolución del alquiler y la comisión durante mucho tiempo. Después de un mucho tiempo me devolvieron parte del dinero no me devolvieron 610 euros la agencia no contesta e-mails ni llamadas si no quieres perder tu dinero evita esta agencia

I had a great experience with Barcelona-Home. The staff is very professional and helpful, and they helped me out with everything I needed. We booked a beautiful apartment in San Antoni a central neighbourhood in Barcelona. The apartment had a terrace with an amazing view, and was bright, spacious and clean. Our stay at Barcelona - Home was very good and I enjoyed the apartment very much. it was my first time in barcelona and i did not know many people. the owner was very understanding, friendly and welcoming and often checked if we were doing well in the apartment. the apartment was very clean and fresh and had a big terrace with a wonderful view. it was a bright apartment located in a safe area (sant antoni). i would definitely recommend barcelona home to anyone who wants a nice and safe stay in Barcelona.

Gente que ni sabe trabajar. El piso no era lo de las fotos. En el contrato ponía sábanas y toallas, cuando dije que no estaba ni me contestaron por un día, tuve que comprar todo. Después de unos días la "manager" dió acceso a mi piso al chico que lo alquilaba antes que yo...es decir, un desconocido entró en mi piso cuando yo no estaba, sin que lo supiera, en plena pandemia y con una fianza de casi 1000 euro. Me lo confirmó dicha "manager"cuando me dì cuenta de que alguien había entrado. Al final de la estancia me robaron 70 euro de tasa de limpieza, que no estaban en el contrato, gestionando mi dinero sin preguntar ni avisar antes. Un asco total.me gustaría mucho hacer el nombre de la dueña también... estafadores

I recently stayed with Barcelona home for an extended time and their service was awful throughout. OVERALL - Barcelona home WILL NOT TAKE CARE OF YOU as soon as you pay them their money and will hold your deposit for any reason you give them. The agent was frequently unresponsive and unhelpful. We were charged extra for a cleaning service which rarely came and was unreliable. We frequently had trouble with everyday things such as the wifi and we were not notified when they scheduled construction on our own terrace. On top of this, they witheld most of our security deposit, forcing us to pay for removal of BEDBUGS which were discovered in the apartment, as well as other charges while placing an extra tax on the return of the deposit (which does not belong). I was absolutely disgusted by the way this company takes advantage of students and/or international travelers who they know do not have the means to sue them for their inadequate service.

Nobody before ever complained about bed bugs because we never had them before. But you, as yourselves explained, like to hike in the mountains, use trains and public transport, etc. Obviously, that is something that can happen, however we strongly think that you need to repair the damage caused. Or at least, a part of it. We have had to throw: mattresses, beds, sheets, towels, pay for a full disinfection Enterprise (SIMMPLY, you can contact them) and buy it all again. Had a good experience with the company until the last few weeks of my long term stay. It took them around 3 weeks to organise bed bug fumigation as the communication was so bad (ignoring texts and calls). Due to this delay in treatment, the fumigation cost us 100 euros more. At the end of the tenancy, the costs deducted from our deposit had 21% tax applied to them (including the fumigation fee??) and so the refund we received was significantly less than expected. When we queried this, we were met with ignored texts, phone calls and emails. The majority of the reviews on here are for internships!

Unfortunately, I’d like to echo a lot of what I’ve read here and elsewhere. We had a 6 month stay with Barcelona Home and while some aspects of the stay were lovely, the company turned out to be very shady. They asked for a considerable deposit, and then were very deceitful about how much they were withholding. We got about €700 fewer than we were supposed to get due to a bunch of last minute, nonsensical charges. Our agent, Alba, also disappeared once we started inquiring about what happened to our money. Little we can do now except write a bad review and hope no one else falls into this trap. We’re exploring legal action, but we’re not sure how much we’ll be able to do as foreigners. * Also I’ve noticed a lot of the reviews here on Google are written by interns inflating their ratings which we didn’t realize until well into our stay. Good luck and buyer beware!

No hagan transacciones con esta gente. Gente especuladora, sin moral, que quiere sacar ventajas de una pandemia. Tenía reservado y pagado 2 meses por airbnb, sacado desde hace mas de un mes. El gobierno abrió el turismo para el 1 de Julio y esta gente nos canceló la reserva para subir los precios. Y encima no da la cara, no tienen escrúpulos. Le pondría cero estrellas si me dejara.

I stayed at one of their apartments throughout the fall/winter, and while the Spanish may be used to warm weather, I don't think it is customary that the windows don't keep the wind out. Because of this, it got rather cold and the only way to warm up the apartment was by turning on the airco on a warm setting. There were no useful cleaning products, so the bathroom was rather dirty throughout my stay, even though someone came to clean every week. I was also not able to enter the apartment at the confirmed date because the guest that was staying before me, hadn't left. Whether this was because of communication between them or entirely the guest's fault, I do not know. So they lied to me and told me it was because of the fact that it needed to be cleaned and the woman who was supposed to do this, could not come. They were quite impatient while I was checking whether or not I could stay elsewhere for this one night, which is quite important when you're abroad. In the end, I paid for this night I could not enter and while I contacted them several times to get this sum back, you are not a client anymore to them from the moment they have received your money. They did not even answer my e-mails or messages, just completely ignored everything. *EDIT* After I published this, they responded to my review. So of course I tried to get in contact with them. But as of today, I have not received a reply.

Pity there is no option to put "-" here. Worst renting experience in my life. I've been to Barcelona 4 times and was in love with this place because never met this kind of behavior in local people. I tried to book an apartment through this company at airbnb. The agent was quite slow in answering my questions. I asked if it was possible to look at the apartment before booking. She said: "Yes" and we made an appointment. But she didn't give any address and was ignoring me within 3 days until the day of the appointment passed. After all she wrote me that they were not interested in my renting. The same was on whats app. There are dozens of negative reviews about this company on airbnb. I do not understand what they are still doing there. Many people complain that the "hosts" can change the location the day of arrival without warning clients or apologizing. They use the situation to cheat people. Shame! UPD: Guys, can't find an option to answer to your reply, so, will add it here. What are you going to figure out with me? The situation is clear: your agency has good reviews from people who rented expensive apartments and bad ones from those who rented cheaper flats. But I'm not a tourist going to Barcelona to waste away my life, I'm a scientist coming for research to make a contribution to global healthcare. And I'm not ready to pay 400 eur per night to stay there for 2 months. But it doesn't mean that I should be treated like that. So, figure it out with your staff and educate them to treat people as people regardless the cost of accommodation you offer. You have dozens of rules, cameras and noise monitors in the apartments (which is not legal I guess) and still behave like that with clients. Teach your agents to be professional and that's all you need to figure out. Best regards.

They rent an apartment, when I got there they said the apartment had a water leak, and I was directed to a room in an abandoned building. Then communications are closed. and the deposit I have no more hopes of receiving. I had rented a beautiful apartment in Arc de Triomf, for 34 days but because of the conditions of the room in which we were placed we returned on the 3rd day. And to top it off, we were mugged getting on the bus to the airport.

Appartamento Sagrada Familia BHM2-1360, permanenza dal 22 al 29 dicembre, ottimo appartamento dotato di tutto ciò che necessita in una location con tutti i servizi a portata di mano. Camere accoglienti e luminose, con vista dalla sala della parte alta della Sagrada Familia. Il giorno 27 a causa di una perdita del bagno nel sottostante appartamento la mattina ci viene tolta l'acqua, costringendoci (2 adulti e una bambina) ad andare nei BAR per poter utilizzare il bagno, fortunatamente nel pomeriggio, e ringrazio, arriva l'idraulico che riesce a trovare la perdita, era lo sciacquone del water e pertanto viene disattivato. Il resto della nostra permanenza siamo stati costretti ad utilizzare secchi d'acqua per il water. Capisco l'imprevisto, però per il disagio sarebbe stato giusto almeno un riconoscimento o almeno due parole di scuse. Nel complesso siamo stati soddisfatti del servizio e dell'appartamento

Terrible service. First, they boldly lied to my face about the property management. I explicitly asked them if the property manager returned the deposit promptly. They told me she was wonderful, they had been working with her for a long time, the deposit would be returned immediately. In reality, the manager was absolutely unresponsive and it took me 2 months to get my deposit back. I don't believe they did not know about it. Second, when I contacted them about these issues, they simply did not respond to any of my messages. As soon as they got my fee, they just vanished. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Terrible stay. Company don’t care at all about customer experience and wanted us to stay in a room that was being renovated and had workers coming in every day! Took them 7 days to move us after much complaints from ourselves, and the place they moved us to had no air con and no hot water for 2 weeks! Once we complained to air bnb, the host became very petty and tried to lie there way out of solving our situation. Luckily we recorded all conversations and had proof of issues so air bnb were able to see through their lies. If you want to have a nice stress free holiday, do yourself a favour and avoid this company at all costs!

I came to study in Barcelona for a semester. The apartment is massive and really great to meet people., room was light, bright and colorful better at the library anyway so wasn't an issue for me. very central too! agent who work there handled me so polite and caring, I would definitely recommend to my friends and family as well. Beautiful decorations in apartment The area was calm but still close to metro, Barceloneta and Park Ciutadella, where I loved to spend time at the weekends. The apartment is very beautifully decorated and there wasn't anything missing :) we had a great stay and will definitely be back sooner or later!

I booked the apartment online, then I received an email about the reservation (without the confirmation of the price and the amount of the deposit what I have already transferred to them) to let me know that the owner will contact me with the further details within 48 hours. I emailed and messaged them on Facebook after 3 days to ask about my reservation without any luck. They got back to me only after my boyfriend phoned them. He was told that our reservation has been cancelled???? because the owner said that the paid deposit was not enough.... We haven't received even an email about the cancellation so if he hasn't called them, I would have been still waiting for their answer. After all this, I transferred the remaining amount of the deposit, then I was sent a confirmation email with an amount which was about 140 euros more than the original price and contains fees what I was not aware of because they were not on the website when I booked the apartment (e.g. cleaning fee). When I complained about it they emailed me back that the price was incorrect on the website when I booked the apartment and they just want to let me know that they have changed the incorrect price which obviously didn't help me out.... I have never given bad review to anyone before because everyone makes mistakes as we are humans but how they dealt with this issue was ridiculous. I give 1 star just because I can't give 0. Very poor customer service, avoid this agency!

BarcelonaHome supported the owner in keeping the security deposit for no reason and did not protect us as customer at all. I asked for any proof, evidence, bills, images and such to proof that we did overuse or damage anything. None were given, the deposit of 1200 euros was kept behind for no valid reason. Very disapointed in the service of BarcelonaHome and therefor I will never use their services again. I do strongly recommand people to book somewhere else.

Terrible company! Avoid at all costs. After making a booking the company can then decline your booking up to 48 hours later! I simply cannot understand how an apartment rental company is still running like this in the 21st century when far superior booking companies exist. After making a reservation, we tried to cancel our transaction. We didn't understand that this was a shared apartment. We immediately tried communicating with them using the website chat. The host hadn't accepted our reservation at than point.The person who replied told us that he couldn't do anything because it was Saturday. We couldn't find any way to contact them at the weekend. After explaining what happened, they were not helpful and kept the whole deposit.

FOR ENGLISH SEE BELOW Barcelona-Home heeft een huis geaccommodeerd in Barcelona wat erg de moeite waard leek. Helaas hebben zij in hun aftercare ontzettende steken laten vallen. In het begin leken ze nog oren te hebben voor onze klachten nadat er een substantieel bedrag aan borg werd ingehouden zonder bewijs. Het restant van de borg, waar we zelfs volgens de verhuurder nog recht op hadden, is vervolgens ook nooit overgemaakt onder het mom van 'het is niet onze schuld dat wij het naar een verkeerd rekeningnummer hebben overgemaakt wat jij nog nooit gezien hebt'. Dat Barcelona-Home wel de vruchten plukt van het verhuren van zulke louche appartementen maar niet de verantwoordelijkheid neemt als deze personen huurders die alweer uit Spanje vertrokken zijn financieel onterecht een arm uitdraaien is werkelijk tenenkrommend. Ik zou iedereen adviseren hier met een grote boog omheen te lopen. Barcelona-Home facilitated a house for us that seemed like a nice deal when we got and stayed there. Unfortunately Barcelona-Home decided to totally neglect their aftercare at the moment that the owner of the property decided to financially abuse us by claiming our deposit money without any clear evidence. Probably the most astonishing part is that even the part of the deposit that the owner thought was still ours to keep has never been paid as well. Initially it seemed that Barcelona-Home was the listening ear that a property facilitator should be, but unfortunately they turned out to love reaping benefits of shady property owners as long as they can totally neglect their duty to protect renters (who already left Spain again) against these sharks when things go south. The lack of clear-mindedness and unwillingness to help in this pretty unwished for situation should make EVERYONE RECONSIDER TO CHANGE THEIR MIND when looking for accommodation in Barcelona.

A FUIR ! Ce son des vrais ESCROCS, nous avons payé des frais de réservation sur internet et le restant était a payer sur place, une fois sur place, ils nous ont rajouter 300€ en plus sur la location, ils savent très bien que nous n'allons pas nous rétracter et trouver une autre location le jour même, la seul solution est de payer, SUPER. De plus, une caution de 500€ nous a été débité pour aucune raison valables, aucun moyen de récupérer notre caution, nous ne sommes plus sur place et l'agence ne nous répond plus. Aucun professionnalisme de leurs part, passez plutôt par AirBnB vous aurez beaucoup moins de soucis.

There was a construction in the building during our 3 months stay so the apartment was quite noisy almost every day. Also the pictures are modified with nice colours so in the reality its not as nice as in the pictures. We were also charged with extra costs (electricity, VAT etc.) and didn't get the whole deposit back after the stay. Customer service could had been better.
