Had a great experience with Nick and wanted to say thank you specifically to him and also Lucasfox for helping me to find my new home. As someone who doesn't speak Spanish well, it made things much easier that Nick speaks English as well as Spanish. When I contacted other agents via Idealista they either didn't answer or it was very hard to communicate in Spanish for me. Besides the language, Nick also always followed up to my questions and I think we had around 30+ phone calls where he explained all the details of the property and process to me, very often after normal business hours when I asked something. I really appreciate the help during the process. If other agents from other agencies would have been as proactive as Nick I might have bought a different property, so thanks again for getting me my ideal new home and for making things easy :)

Foreigners be aware ! Lucas Fox will tell you whatever to rent you a place. We were told we could use the place to do the Empadronamiento without problem but actually we had to go twice and almost beg the person to use the contract for the empadronamiento. Every mentions we asked to get modified on the contract were rejected. Be careful with this company they will always prioritise owners, since they take money out of them, over renters. Additionally they ask you to provide 3 months deposit for a temporary rental when by law the max they can ask is 2 months. Horrible experience with the company. To avoid absolutely.

Quiero compartir mi experiencia (muy corta) con esta inmobiliaria. Me contacto con ellos mediante una plataforma de anuncios de pisos ya que me interesó mucho un piso que tienen para alquiler; me llama por teléfono un chico llamado Pedro para informarme sobre los requerimientos para entrar al piso y me hace una serie de preguntas para ver si encajo con el perfil que el propietario busca; como conclusión me dice que todo estaría en orden pero que me va enviar un correo (el correo es el pantallazo que adjunto) con la información del piso o más bien, los requisitos para entrar al piso.. Me llevo la sorpresa que esta “inmobiliaria” cobra 10% de honorarios + IVA por gestionar el contrato (algo que es completamente ILEGAL ya que así lo establece la Ley). Hablo con él y le digo que por qué realizan este cobro si esto ya no es permitido y la respuesta que me da es que ellos cobran esto porque se encargan de hacer el “check in”, aparte de eso; por dar el alta en los servicios y poco más, a lo cual le digo yo y le insisto que no es legal cobrar esto y su respuesta es que así trabajan ellos y que si no se hace de esta manera pues que no coja el piso y efectivamente eso es lo que haré ya que lo que hacen es disfrazar estos cobros con diferentes nombres y poder seguir forrándose a cuenta de los inquilinos.

Lucas Fox, in particular Katia made the whole experience of signing a lease a breeze. It was a pleasure dealing with her and Katia's attention to detail was 10/10. I enjoyed communicating with her to get the lease sorted rather than feeling underwhelmed by most agents. Katia and her team turned around my lease in the quickest manner as I was on a deadline. This team is incredible.

One of the worst experiences ever. Despite the recent change in legislation, the agency is still charging tenant an agency fee. The only difference is that the fee is now called ‘consultancy fee’. Nobody is able to define what exactly is the fee for, so you don’t know what you’re actually paying for. The communication is highly unprofessional, patronizing and simply rude. It’s hard to believe your representative works in the customer-oriented business.

Nick was an absolute pleasure to work with. Our first call when we reached out, he was very straightforward with us, explained how he works, how Lucas Fox works, and a lot about the neighborhoods we should be looking at. My wife and I were set on El Gotic/El Born because thats where you gravitate to as a tourist, but Nick was very helpful in explaining the downfalls of living in tourist destinations when you transition from tourist to resident. We spent about 1 or 2 months going back and forth digitally looking at properties until we nailed down about 9 or 10 to see in person. It was great walking through in person with him as he was detailed and also it didnt feel like some other agencies in Barcelona that want you, as an international buyer, to come in and make a purchase of the first thing they think you should buy. We narrowed down to 2 places and he really helped us make the final decision. He then went to bat for us in negotiating and got us a great price on our property that we are so thrilled to now call home! Ps - he has given us a lot of food recommendations in the area so if you happen to be looking for properties with him, pick his brain on some food options as well!

7 Nov 2022 Update. A response on the below reply of Lucas Fox Thanks for your response. First, Lucas Fox Xabia has our contact details. We have made a down payment for a house which we have not received back and all our details have been left behind. These have not changed. The last contact was on July 11 with Lucas Fox stating that they were still working on it and would get back to it in 2 weeks. The contact was then with Loraina from the head office. As you can read in our comments, we never heard back after that. We did receive a registered letter from Lucas Fox Xabia, asking us kindly but urgently to remove these comments because we would discredit them. We don't understand that Lucas Fox Xabia just don't respond and they are now also pretending to you that they have already given a response and that it would be solved. We are still waiting for a substantiation here. 16 Sept 2022 Update. Still nothing heard from Lucas Fox. Keep you posted. 10 August 2022 Update. On July 11, we finally received a message via Whatsapp from Lucas Fox with the following message: "Dear madam, we are working on it. I hope I will call you this week" On July 22 we sent them a message that we haven't heard anything yet. We are now on August 10 and as we expected We didn't hear from Lucas Fox after that. 1 July 2022 update. Haven't heard anything from Lucas Fox headquarters of the investigation yet. Received a letter from Lucas fox Javea stating that they have done nothing wrong and that we are now discrediting their company. It's nice how they suddenly turn the tables after months while they themselves again and again do not respond and are probably stretching time in the hope that it will all be forgotten. 7 June 2022 2 weeks ago Lucas Fox started the investigation (after months now...). No update to date. Update: 19 may 2022 Thanks for your reaction below. We read that they have tried to contact us? We have whatsapp contact and the last contact months ago is that they investigate the issue. We then replied that we still have all emails in which the whole story is clearly stated again and that we can deliver everything. To date we have not received any response. Contacted them again and they say it is now being investigated. We are 3 months further... Or they try to prolong it in the hope that we won't respond anymore. Unfortunately a very bad experience with Lucas Fox location Xabia handled by Emma. After the down payment of the reservation costs, the seller did not fulfill his agreements. He changed his agreements every time, which ultimately resulted in the sale not going through. We have now lost the reservation costs and no response at all from Lucas Fox and also not from the head office. Unfortunately, we also heard too late in the area that Lucas Fox Xabia already has a pretty bad reputation. Update: They contacted us to hear the story again which we had already emailed to them. They would come back to this. This was mid-March 2022. So far, nothing has been heard from them and they are no longer responding at all. Not what you expect from such a company.

We would not have closed on our perfect house if it was not for the immaculate support of agent Nick Trafford from Lucas Fox. Not only was he a pleasure to work with, he supported us through a couple of nerve-wracking wrinkles that arose during the process. He was always responsive, prompt, reliable, and honest. Importantly, when it was needed, he also also fought very hard in support of our efforts and represented us well. Our deal almost fell apart when another agency with loose business ethics tried to weasel between things. It looked dark for a moment, but Nick managed to leverage his network, knowledge, and skills to put an end to it and get things back on track. He was a rock of patience and calm throughout. About 3 years ago, my wife and I started looking into buying an apartment in Barcelona. Due to pandemic, travel restriction, and so on, we had to delay the process. I just recently bought an apartment in a new building block in Barcelona, through the real estate agency Lucas Fox. And I am absolutely happy with the purchase, the high quality of the construction, and especially with the advice and counsel of Lucas Fox agent Patrick Zwetsloot. It was about two years ago that I first got into contact with Patrick. At the time, I was still planning to buy a renovated apartment in a historic building. I had already visited a few of these flats, but was not fully convinced. So, it was Patrick´s idea of looking into new building projects too, that changed the course of things. As the purchase of an apartment from scratch and from an abstract floor plan was entirely new to me, Patrick took his time to explain me how this would work and what I would have to keep in mind. He answered all my questions with dedication and patience, and took me to the construction site where I could actually see where the future building would be situated a couple of years later. His counsel continued throughout the entire process, until the signing of the contract a few months ago. I experienced Patrick as a very dedicated, competent and trustworthy sales agent, and on top as someone very pleasant to deal with. To sum up, I would definitely recommend Lucas Fox and in particular Patrick Zwetsloot to other customers, too.

Lucas Fox was suppose to help me with buying an apartment in Barcelona, however I had to withdraw from the deal that seemed very sketchy and waisted 2 months of my time plus lawyers fee. First my agent Nick Trafford amended the reservation offer without an approval from me in advance, which in hindsight should`ve been the first sign to back out. The seller had ridiculous contingences when we started working with the arras contract. Both my agent Nick and sellers agent Sergi Perez (same company representing both sides - again not a good sign usually) knew about the seller`s contingences from the beginning and chose not to disclose it. Instead, they pushed me to get a legal consul and hoped they`d smooth this issue afterwards. Had the process been transparent, had they actually mentioned the seller`s contingences on the reservation contract (which is the norm in most countries) then none of us would`ve wasted so much time with their difficult seller. I don`t know how it is in Spain but in my country holding back such important information plus amending a written offer (which is forgery) would be reasons for both a legal complaint and a formal complaint with the Association of Real Estate. So now I have to start the process all over again with 2 months of waisted time and unnecessary legal fees thanks to Lucas Fox.

Coming to Spain with all I ve heard about realtors really concerned me. But Mark was very patient. He answered all my questions patiently and transparently while not being pushy. He was keen on finding the right apartment for me. He also introduced me to different things in the life of a person living in Barcelona, from the view of an English speaking foreigner. Took me 2 months to find the perfect home and I am happy with the experience and purchase! He went above and beyond. I would highly recommend him and Lucas Fox to anyone wanting to buy a home in Spain.

Lucas Fox and Nick Trafford provided an excellent service and helped me to purchase an apartment in Barcelona. I only had 5 work days available for a visit and came on a short notice when the travel from US to Spain became possible after the COVID restrictions were lifted. Nick was fully prepared. We toured a dozen of properties, made an offer, and got it accepted - all in just 4 days. Lucas Fox also put me in touch with a lawyer who helped with setting up bank accounts and provided legal guidance on the offer letter and the purchase contract. Como pueden vender un piso sin ni tan sólo verlo? Me trajeron tan sólo una visita y al cabo de 10 días me hicieron la devolución diciendo que los clientes buscaban un piso en finca nueva sobre plano. Vivo en una finca regia del centro de Barcelona y es de 1939. Para qué los traen, entonces, pregunté. En fin, les dije que dieran de baja mi anuncio antes de vencer el contrato. Además, la comisión es una de las más altas del mercado. Mi experiencia con ellos es nefasta. Muy poco profesionales y con rumbo perdido.

I was looking for a small apartment in Barcelona after visiting the city in 2016 and I happened upon a new development from Lucas Fox. I was put in touch with Mohammad Butt who held my hand throughout the entire process. As I was not familiar at all with Spain, he connected me with a mortgage broker to help me open a bank account/apply for a loan, a lawyer that helped me complete the transaction, a listing agent etc and was always available to answer any questions/issues I had about the development and about making a purchase in Spain. As a property investor making a purchase in an unfamiliar country, this service was essential to me. Although, I came across a major issue when applying for a loan in Spain (as a foreigner I definitely WOULD NOT recommend working with Bankia), Lucas Fox and Mohammad definitely did their best to help me find a solution and in the end it all worked out. I haven't had a chance to look at the property in person however it was built to specs and delivered on time.

Changing from 1 to 2 stars because I had to fight too much for an issue that could have been solved in 10 minutes. --- ORIGINAL REVIEW --- Had a terrible experience with Lucas Fox and they're by far the worst agency I had to deal with. We made an offer, signed by Lucas Fox, for a flat with a bed, and when I moved in I found the bad wasn't there. We had to spend the first night out of our flat, we called our Lucas Fox representative and they told us it was not their problem, they didn't offer to pay for our hotel. The next day we had to go to Ikea to buy a bed ourself, and now they don't want to reimburse it to us. They have been very unprofessional, I highly recommend to stay away from them.

Outstanding service throughout the entire process! After having been disappointed with a couple of rental agencies in Madrid, we found Lucas Fox (thanks to great Google reviews!). When I called to find out about an apartment that I had seen on their website, someone answered the phone (unlike the other agencies where you only get voice mails). An agent, Patricia Sanchez, called me back immediately and offered to take a video of the apartment the next day (as we live overseas). We liked the apartment and Patricia made sure to process all the administrative formalities as soon as possible in order to secure it. She also provided great assistance for settling in Madrid upon arrival (NIE number, bank account, Internet, phone etc...). Even after the move, she answers all of our questions promptly and makes the necessary follow-up. The Lucas Fox team is very professional. I do not hesitate to recommend them.
