We have just completed on a rather complicated property sale of a campo house north of Benamargosa. It took a long time due to historic issues with deeds and registration. Throughout Sharon and her team were shining lights of wisdom and support in a sea of misinformation. I cannot commend Sharon and her team more they were excellent in every sense of the word and I would commend them. Thank you so much for all your help support and unfailing positivity.

Axarquia is amazing. I am planning a holiday in this region but I would not be able to live here all the time. Very narrow, very winding, very narrow, very steep streets, driving and parking is inconvenient for me. Plenty of stairs to the houses, inside the house there are plenty of stairs two to three floors high, small windows, inside dark houses. It’s a completely different way of life, not the “Spanish dream” I want. The real estate agency is fantastic, senior GREGORY is a wonderful person, I can recommend from a pure heart. Well where do I start, We have nothing but praise for this company. We travelled to Spain in our motor home in 2019 with an idea of buying a villa. We met Sharon from essential properties and spent nearly a week with her viewing properties. We soon realised buying a property could be quite daunting but Sharon and her very helpful, highly professional team of Vicky, Ana and, I apologise I have forgotten all their names, soon put us at ease and explained everything. We flew back in Feb 2020 and spent another week with Sharon and her team. To cut a very long story short we ended up buying a villa and an apartment and are here now enjoying life. I have ran my own business for many years and have always relied on reputation for my work. It seems to be the way of the world these days to rely on reviews from the internet. I don’t really write reviews unless i feel it needs to be written. We were 100% satisfied/overwhelmed by essential properties for their professionalism, honesty and nothing was a problem attitude. They went out of their way to help us with everything we asked and more, they still do. The hours Sharon put into our specific needs was a breath of fresh air, it got to a point where I was sick of saying thank you, a word I don’t use lightly. They provided and put us in contact with a choice of good lawyers, accountants and all relevant bodies to settle in to our new life. Avoid at all costs they will not refund any deposits with many rubbish excuses. Reported to the town hall for non return of deposit they have 10days to respond. Reported to police. Stay away very unprofessional and patronising

UPDATE JAN 5th - the response does not highlight the correct reason for us not completing the purchase. The legal aspects of the property resulted in our lender deeming it to be too high risk (and thus over valued) as it was built illegally. I withdraw my comment about the sales side being helpful and friendly - this quote which is currently being used on the site has turned out to be far from the true position and the agent’s rep Michael Barnes is not to be trusted under any circumstances. ——————— Approached Essential last summer to help us find a property. Very helpful and friendly service on the sales side. They found us a property and encouraged an early exchange of contracts to secure. The contract included a clause for the return of our deposit if there were legal complications and Essential assured us they would personally get the money back if that happened. Searches revealed that the property was indeed built illegally, but the seller refused to return our money in breach of contract. Essential decided not to accept the word of our lawyer or our bank and have made no effort to help return our deposit or return our calls and messages. We are now faced with a costly and lengthy legal process. The sign of a good firm is how they react to problems and issues. Unfortunately they have fallen well short of expectations.

We purchased a property through Essential Properties and were assured it was legally built. A contract was signed that stated if there were legal issues or if the property was not mortgageable our deposit would be returned. Unfortunately 3 months later it was discovered this was the case and it was built on prohibited land. The agency have washed their hands of this and we have lost €13,000 plus €3,000 legal fees which could take upto 2 years to recover if at all. Other than Michael at Essential we have found them to be evasive and they have ignored calls and emails from our lawyer. Please also be warned they will want you to use their recommended solicitor who they have a very “close” relationship with, I strongly suggest you seek independent legal advice. *** since my husband posted an honest and truthful review we have been emailed by Sharon at Essential making threats. We have given a truthful and factual account of events which can be proven ***

Do not use, unprofessional and unresponsive when there is a legal issue.

I honestly can't believe I'm seeing 5 stars for this cowboy outfit. The most unreliable,dishonest and unhelpful agency ever dealt with. Don't fall for the fake 5* reviews. Please people bypass this and save yourself alote of stress and problems. If I could rate it -2 stars I seriously would. Stay safe peeps.

I purchased a property through Essential Properties after trying other less than professional agents. Not only was the purchasing of the property smooth and efficient, it was virtually stress free. Even the after sales service was excellent as nothing was too much of a problem for these guys. They sorted out absolutely everything making our lives so easy. It is rare nowadays to find people/companies that do exactly what they are supposed to do however all I can say is Essential Properties do "Exactly What It Says On The Tin". You will not find a better Property Company in the area.

They do get people to visit your property. But will only advertise at the price they think it is worth, which means it lacks flexibility.

VERY BAD AFTER SALE SERVICE .I BOUGHT THE HOUSE FULLY FURNISHED AND CONTRACT SIGNED AND PAID ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNERS HAD TAKEN THE TELEVISION BACK TO THE UK . WHEN I CONTACT THE AGENT TO INDICATE THAT THIS WAS PART OF THE CONTRACT HE DECIDED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO .HE HAD NEITHER INFORMED THE OWNERS THAT THE CONTRACT INDICATED THAT ALL FURNITURE OR ENSERES IN SPANISH MEANT EVERYTHING INCLUDED EXCEPT THE PERSONAL BELONGINGS . I CANOT SEE HOW A TELEVISION CAN BE PERSONAL BELONGINGS CAN YOU. THIS HAPPENED TWO WEEKS AGO AND THE TELEVISION IS STILL MISSING AND MY SET OF KEYS NOT RETURNED ( ps Picked them up myself at a latter stage .see below update ). I HAVE GIVEN THE AGENCY ONE STAR FOR FINDIG THE HOUSE BUT THE AGENT acted IRRESPONSIBLY at the time AND COMMUNICATED POORLY . EDIT ON May 31st of 2018 This review was done two months ago and keys have been safely returned now and the TV replaced . It is unfortunate that so much stress has been caused and happy to say that other staff in the agency have proven to be very courteous to date .

We are an agency from coasta Calida and Costa Blanca and had clients for the Malaga area, we travelled down and viewed houses with them and had a sale.
